What are the causes of bad breath?
Bad breath; It has two sources: Intraoral and Extraoral. The cause of bad breath mostly originates from the oral cavity (inside the mouth).
Among the causes of bad breath originating from the oral cavity: Tooth decay, gum diseases, tongue surface coating, dry mouth and dental pathologies are among the most important causes.
There are also extra-oral causes of bad breath. These; ENT problems, lung disease, kidney and liver diseases, diabetes, hormonal reasons and medications used.
What is Applied in the Treatment of Bad Breath?
In the treatment, the factors that cause bad breath are determined and appropriate treatment planning is made. If the cause is gingivitis and associated bleeding, gum treatment is performed; if the cause is tooth decay, tooth decay treatment is applied.
It is usually eliminated to a large extent by brushing teeth, using interface cleaning tools, and scraping the tongue surface. In some cases, it is supported with chemical agents.
